HOW TO : Wipe and Reinstall Fresh OS For BlackBerry OS 4.5-7.1

Follow steps below :

Preparation

1. BACKUP all your data (Full BackUp) Using BlackBerry Desktop Software
2. Keep ALL LINK/INSTALLER of 3rd party software handy
3. Download BBSAK 1.9 : http://www.bbsak.org/
4. BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 :
5. Download OS
Asia Pacific
Choose from Maxis, DiGi or Celcom
Choose Your Device (if you can’t find, check below)

OR

From BlackBerryOS blog  (You need to register first)

NOTE : You also can use any telco’s OS (vodafone,T-Mobile etc)

A. FACTORY RESET (OPTIONAL)

There are times, you wanted to clear everythings in your BlackBerry, you may do this by :
options>security options>general settings> press menu (bb) button > wipe handheld
the system will ask you what you want to delete 3rd party applications etc..choose yes, later you’ve to type “blackberry“…

B. For WIPE and Reinstall OS…
——————————–

1. Install BSAK
2. Install Desktop Manager (if you haven’t do so)
3. Connect your Device with BSAK via USB
4. In BSAK click on Wipe Device
5. After done, your device will restart and leave Error 507…

No worry, this Error means you need to reinstall OS

C. Reinstall OS
——————————

1. Install the OS *.exe files > RUN

2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named “vendor.xml.”
NOTE : For Vista & Windows 7 User..kindly search – delete both vendor.xml files

3. Plug in your BlackBerry Devive using USB cable to PC and double click on “Loader.exe.” It’s located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

4. Tick those applications that you need..such as Maps, YouTube etc.
5. When you receive a confirmation message that the update is complete, you can disconnect your device.

D. Restore BackUp

1. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager
2. Click Device
3. Choose Restore
4. Choose your BackUp
5. Restore
6. After Done, you may install your 3rd. party applications
